“REDUCE THE RUSH” FOR PLANT 2020 WITH END-OF-SEASON DATA REVIEW

“REDUCE THE RUSH” FOR PLANT 2020 WITH END-OF-SEASON DATA REVIEW

December 3, 2019

Review your data and get insider tips to help you manage your data.

From planting through harvest, the 2019 crop year has been tough on everyone in agriculture.  Thankfully, it is drawing to a close as farmers complete final fields and step down from their combines. However, even when the equipment is back in the shed, harvest duties are not quite over. Post-harvest is the right time to review the agronomic and machine data collected throughout the growing season.

Reviewing data is a vital step for farmers to ensure that the data they are providing to agronomists, trusted-advisors and/or insurance agents is accurate. This may seem like a daunting task to farmers as they prepare for Plant 2020, but it’s not. Editing tools available in the Farmobile DataEngineSM platform PLUS the Farmobile tips (below) will help to reduce the hassle and the end-of-the-year rush.

4 Ways to Reduce the Rush (Spring 2020)

Users should login to their Farmobile accounts to view and edit field-level information via Farmobile DataEngineSM platform:

1.REVIEW FIELD ACTIVITY DATA

Double-check that all the planting, as-applied and harvest information is correct (crop type, seed variety, etc.).

New Product Feature: EFR Filters

Electronic Field Record (EFR) filters help users to organize their data for a speedy review. Ag retailers, who work with multiple farmers, can now manage the EFR views on a farm-by-farm or grower-by-grower basis. Here’s How.

Read more about the value and benefits of EFRs here.

2. CHECK FIELD BOUNDARIES

Incorrect field boundaries can skew farm and field data. So it’s vital they are accurate. The boundary records stored within Farmobile DataEngine platform serve as the farm’s “boundary deed.” Tools in the platform allow users to create, view and modify each field’s common set of boundaries — and, users can share field boundaries wherever or to whomever they choose. How To.

3. ADD TRUSTED ADVISORS TO REPORTS

Farmobile field activity or farm-ability and machine utilization reports are a “gold mine” for identifying operational efficiencies. Users should make sure that their trusted advisors receive direct-to-email reports. Reports are created to provide Farmobile subscribers with daily, weekly and monthly breakdowns of operational performance. Here’s How.

4. CERTIFY DATA

The “smart” certification process, available through the Farmobile DataEngine platform, has been expanded and simplified. Certification happens only AFTER farmers have ensured their EFRs are accurate and complete. Once data is certified, it is available for potential licensing and revenue opportunities through the Farmobile DataStoreSM exchange. Participation in the exchange is completely optional to growers, who must approve each and every potential transaction.  How To.

Once 2019 agronomic data is reviewed, modified and certified, it’s time to relax. Farmers can look forward to planning for Plant 2020 — knowing the previous year’s data is in top notch condition.
