If you haven’t hit the fields yet, there’s still time to make certain your PUC and Farmobile DataEngine are spring-ready. The Farmobile Customer Support team recommends completing four steps to ensure that you collect the most useful, uniform agronomic and machine data set from spring to fall. This includes testing your PUC(s) and updating the Farmobile DataEngine with 2018 seed varieties and field boundaries.
Follow these basic steps to make this the best live data spring:
Step 1: Install PUC hardware, attach antenna
If your PUC hardware is already installed, skip this step. Typically, it requires 15 minutes (or less) to: 1) Attach the antenna to the cab roof, 2) Connect the correct data cables to the machine and PUC, and 3) Mount the PUC.
Step 2: Update the Farmobile DataEngine with a list of seed varieties
Pre-populating the Farmobile DataEngine with your 2018 seed varieties (prior to planting) saves your time and hassle later on. Most of all, these important details ensures more accurate Electronic Field Records for anytime use.
Add Seed Variety via Inputs Tab
Step 3: Troubleshoot by PUC color codes
Turn on your equipment. Take PUC for a spin. Make sure to observe PUC light patterns. The basic rule of thumb is “Green” is go and “Red” indicates an error; other colors help to specifically define connectivity issues. If you have a color code issue refer to the troubleshoot guide.
Step 4: Update field boundaries
Field boundaries are the containers for all PUC-collected point-by-point agronomic and machine data. So, boundaries matter. In fact, better boundaries mean more accurate Electronic Field Records (EFRs). You can draw field boundaries via Farmobile DataEngine or for help uploading please email support.
