CAN YOU MEASURE YOUR FLEET’S ROI?

Services+ Leverages the Power of Data

Ag-Retailers continuously adapt to new technologies and services to help their farmers get an edge on field-to-yield outcomes. As-applied services often play a vital role in ensuring a successful growing season. For the ag retailer that means making a hefty investment to keep their commercial application fleet fit and ready-to-go.

Controlling costs and maximizing a commercial fleet is no small task. And, often, the information available to ag retail fleet managers does not paint a clear picture about which individual machines are actually costing or contributing to the fleet’s overall performance and bottom line. Determining actual profitability on a mixed application fleet is extremely complicated.

That’s why Farmobile has launched a brand new offering, Services+ for Ag-Retail Fleet,  as a premier, value-added data consulting service. Created from Farmobile’s ability to capture and normalize agronomic-and machine-collected data at scale for farmers, ag retailers and other channel partners, Farmobile Services+ for Ag Retail Fleet is the first in a series of Orange GloveTM customized solutions to transform data into simple, powerful insights for customers.

Recently Farmobile’s Steve Cubbage, vice president of services+ and Justin Heath, senior vice president of sales, talked about the benefits and values in the July 2020 edition of the YouTube series, Farmobile Talk.

According to Cubbage, the ag retail fleet offering combines Farmobile’s agronomic and machine data capture and standardization technology with personalized fleet reports, machine and fleet profitability and performance metrics, and customized consulting data services tailored for each client’s greatest management challenges.

“Customers can either trial Farmobile data-collection technology on a minimum of 10 machines or outfit their entire application fleet with real-time data collection, full-fleet logistics,  24/7 data visibility and access to never-before-seen fleet insights,” said Cubbage.

The premium Orange GloveTM service includes a needs assessment, pre-loading machine and fleet cost information, Farmobile PUCTM device installation, customized reports, consultative meetings, machine-to-fleet comparisons, and deep analysis on how variables such as fuel, labor, transportation and idling/working time contribute to the fleet’s overall operational success.

Farmobile Services+ for Ag Retail Fleet include quarterly consultations and monthly or weekly data-driven, customized intelligence reports:

  • Base efficiency metrics
  • Tach hour per machine per month
  • Cost per acre by machine
  • Machine comparison by activity type
  • Machine efficiency comparison by location type
  • Simulated savings
  • Enhanced weekly machine performance metrics including; high vs. low-efficiency metrics, cost efficiency by make and model by machine category, hour tracking alerts and percentage hours vs. percentage acres vs. percentage revenue, and more.

“Farmobile Services+ for Ag Retail Fleet takes data insights to the next level that just the basic machine data set can’t address,” said Cubbage.

Determining actual profitability on a mixed application fleet is extremely complicated. “You can’t manage what you can’t measure. Being able to compare machine metrics across an entire fleet is huge. Many ag retailers are shocked to learn that the majority of their machines aren’t even breaking even. In today’s economic environment, every dollar counts. We’ve made it easy for them to collect, view, measure and manage their mixed-fleet data,” he added.

In today’s economic climate, efficiency is the name of the game in ag retail. Everyone is trying to do more with less and it’s likely to be the place where customers can see the most immediate impact.

Farmobile Services+ for Ag Retail Fleet allows customers to see, maybe for the first time, how each machine’s in-field performance aligns with the fleet’s total cost of operation and analyzes bottom-line contributions based on fuel use, labor, transportation, idling and working time.
