Farmobile Customer Success Representatives Cannon Gammill and Kaleb Batman

. . .

We know you have a lot of questions for Farmobile and we wanted to address some of the most common questions received from customer call-ins. Farmobile Customer Success Representatives Cannon Gammill and Kaleb Batman are featured on a Farmobile Talk YouTube series called, “Top Farmobile FAQ .”

On camera, Cannon and Kaleb answer the most frequently asked questions about farm and machine data collection and share valuable insights.

Q. WHAT MACHINES ARE COMPATIBLE WITH FARMOBILE TECHNOLOGY?

A. The Farmobile PUCTM device works on most machines manufactured since 2005. That includes harvesters, planters, sprayers, spreaders, forage equipment and tractors across all major brands. Typically if the machine has a 9-pin diagnostic cable, Farmobile can collect most of the OEM data from the machine. Additional harnesses may be required if a third-party monitor is used for an in-cab monitor.

Q. HOW DO I INSTALL?

A. Before a Farmobile PUC device is shipped, the Customer Success team will schedule a brief meeting to review general information with the users about an operation. There are four main components to install.

STEP 1: Attach the GPS antenna to ensure the Farmobile PUC device is collecting the most accurate GPS dataset.

STEP 2: Connect the antenna cable to the Farmobile PUC device.

STEP 3: Plug the 12-pin connector from the breakout cable into the PUC.

STEP 4: Attached the diagnostic cable to the 6-pin connection on the Breakout Cable. Then plug the diagnostic connection into the machine.

STEP 5: Hard mount the device to the window or store anywhere in the cab.

Here are install tips for most of the machine Farmobile is compatible.

Q. WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE PUC DEVICE IS INSTALLED?

STEP 1: Login into the Farmobile account. A Farmobile account, username and password are required for Farmobile web and mobile app access. Accounts and login information are emailed to subscribers when the subscription process is complete.

STEP 2: Input crop type.Make adjustments to the crop type before you start running. Don’t panic if you forgot to make LIVE machine adjustments on the Farmobile DataEngineSM platform. Get started now.

STEP 3: Change swath width.Double-check that the header width is correct. Make edits manually or select automatic adjustment for machine-detected crop row swath width. Make adjustments now.

STEP 4: Check the Farmobile PUC light.Green means GO! While operating, keep an eye on the Farmobile PUC device to make sure you still have a green signal. Troubleshooting PUC Light guide.

Q. HOW IS FARMOBILE DATA DIFFERENT?

A. Many agdata collection companies are out in the marketplace now. So, how can you tell the difference? Farmers collect an immense amount of data and, when you’re dealing with that much information, data can get lost. Farmobile has a significant advantage by collecting, transmitting and storing both agronomic and machine data every second

Today, no other company on the market can provide true real-time data streaming. Farmobile can. LIVE data allows users to view their mixed-fleet on a single screen – any time, any place. The Farmobile PUC device collects machine and agronomic data on its hard drive minimizing data loss.

Another very important Farmobile differentiator is, we are an independent data-only company with a foundational belief that farmers own the data. That is, those who create or author the data, own it. Farmobile has established a clear and upfront approach when it comes to data rights and privacy.
