Welcome!
Hi there. We’re Farmobile. Welcome to our blog!
Farmobile is the farm data company. We help farmers collect, share, and sell their data. Our goal is to help farmers increase the efficiency and profitability of their land by leveraging the power of the data they generate day in and day out.
As more and more “legacy” industries come online with sensors, connected networks, and remote monitoring tools, it’s clear that data is more powerful and valuable than ever before.
This is especially true in agriculture, where insights from data can mean greater productivity and efficiency.
For years, farmers have been generating data with every decision they make on the farm and whenever they run their equipment up and down their fields. Until now, that data has been stuck in the cab, in a thumb-drive, or on a piece of paper stuffed in their pockets.
We started Farmobile to ensure that farmers could get that data out of their machines and into a portable, shareable format. In the process, we realized the importance of ownership. Farm data means nothing for a farmer if he doesn’t own and control it.
Farmobile collects data agnostically and grants full ownership to farmers. What you create belongs to you, period. There’s no fine print. You always dictate how it is used, shared, and even sold. This is important in a time when the terms of service in digital ag are still being hammered out, often behind the backs of farmers themselves.
Since we’ve launched, we’ve helped thousands of farmers create digital records of their fields with electronic field records (EFRs), the world’s first universal data standard for agricultural information. Our farmers have created more than 4,000 EFRs in the past year and half.
We’ve also launched the Farmobile Data Store, a marketplace to facilitate fair and secure data transactions for the first time. We believe that data is an infinite commodity and that farmers will be reaping a new digital harvest in years to come.
In fact, you may have heard that we just signed our first data buyer — Guy Carpenter — who has agreed to source data from farmers directly. We’re excited to be making good on our promise to bring vetted third party data buyers to farmers.

We’re starting this blog so that farmers and and agri-business leaders who support them e can learn about our mission, get updates on the latest from Farmobile, and understand our -perspective on the agriculture industry. We want to push the conversation about data and agriculture forward and hope you will join us!
